Colombia

19 October, 2019

I went to see the impressive variety of Colombia. Our journey has started in Bogotá which is located round 2.600 meters above sea level. With less oxygen to breathe at that height, every walk or hike became more exhausting than usual. A few days later we took a plane to Salento where we stayed at a hotel in the beautiful Cocora valley for one night. After that, a bus took us to Medellin where we explored the city. We left Medellin by plane and flew to Santa Marta where we started a four day trekking tour through the Colombian Sierra Nevada to see the Ciudad Perdida - The Lost City - in the midst of muggy rainforest. After that tedious yet fantastic trekking tour we were able to relax in Cartagena, and had a few more days in the peninsula Baru before we spent our last day in Bogot#a and headed back to Germany.
